Bootleg of unreleased demos released on 2 CD-Rs.

The demos that impressed Ivo over at 4AD so much he only slightly remixed them for release. "Lord Kill the Pain" appears in the film and on the soundtrack to Floundering. "Japanese to English" appears in the film and on the soundtrack to the Amateur.

Although it's not noted on the album anywhere, this is officially referred to by 4AD as Red House Painters I, or as the fans call it, the "rollercoaster" album.

Although it's not noted on the album anywhere, this is officially referred to by 4AD as Red House Painters II, or as the fans call it, the "bridge" album. So much material was recorded for the rollercoaster album that they decided to put out this album later in the year.

Now out of print, but easily found on the reissued Red House Painters (bridge) CD above. The untitled hidden instrumental appears at the end of track 4.

The "if I want to play some fucking leads, I'm going to play some fucking leads" album that Ivo over at 4AD Records refused to release, thus ending Red House Painters' contract with them.

No worries, as this album was picked up by John Hughes' imprint Supreme Recordings, a division of Island Records.

"Long Distance Runaround" differs from the Ocean Beach 2x10" version, and "All Mixed Up" appears in the film Excess Baggage.

"The first disc was hand-picked by Ivo Watts-Russell and gives an insight into his perceptions of the band. His only limitations were physical. They had to fit on one CD. The rarities on disc two were compiled by the band from demos and live recordings spanning the years 1989-1995."
